You may have noticed that I've eased off a bit on the Zoo/Aquarium topic over at the Gypsy Dive Log. The recent disaster in the Gulf of Mexico has fast become the most pressing threat to marine life in the U.S. Frankly, the ecological implications of this oil spill far outweigh my concerns over the captivity issue, for the time being.
So I just haven't been stirring that pot lately.
Not to mention I just returned from a 3-week trip diving and shooting in Roatan, Honduras. I'm still reviewing and compiling all of the incredible photos and video footage from that trip (including shots of a perfectly happy, wild, 3-legged green sea turtle), and that is what's currently snatching up all the real estate on the Dive Log.
That being said, the controversial issue of marine mammals in captivity is no less important. I encourage you to visit the Gypsy Dive Log and weigh in. This discussion is not going anywhere, and I have every intention of picking it back up right where I left off!
